I have mixed emotions writing this last blog in regards to Korea. It's been a great 9 months, filled to the brim with great memories made my great friends. However, there's so many great things in my near future that I have to look forward to. First stop: Siem Reap, Cambodia. Next: Phuket, Thailand. Final destination: HOME.
However, I'm sad to say goodbye to my dearest South Korea. I have gained so much from living in your small, quaint, but busy country. Your people are kind and your students are bright. You have taught me the meaning of patience and the importance of communication skills. You have opened my eyes and mind to the concept of simplicity. Most importantly, what will my life be like in a world without service (free food)? Or kimchi?
The last few weeks I've been keeping busy enjoying the southern province of Korea and it's beautiful nature. Enjoy the pictures above from the Bamboo Festival in Damyang, Yeonggwang, and my last day at work.
Just a short list of things I will greatly miss about Korea:
1. Kimchi
2. Service
3. Chopsticks
4. Heated toilet seats
5. Electronic Key Pad for my apartment (not losing my key)
6. Water Coolers everywhere
7. Cooked Kimchi
8. Independent coffee shops
9. Walking to work
10. Fast internet (to torrent)
11. Hangul alphabet
12. Conveniently located convenient stores
13. Getting away with things by playing dumb
14. Fresh produce on the street corner
15. Skin-ship
16. Mudeung Mountain
17. Mountains in every direction you look
18. Playing gladiators (not Korean, but still)
19. Makkoli
20. The E-Mart song (just kidding)
21. Banana Milk
And ofcourse, my students and my friends. Thank you for everything, my wonderful friends and co-workers. I'll miss you all so much.
Tune in next time to hear about Cambodia/ Thailand.
Thanks to everyone for reading my blog and lending me your support. I appreciate it!
Until next time...
